Last week, I post a message about to get a hold of the local power company
to fix power line noise. Well, I managed to wangle a company number from a
XYL of a KG&E worker. That was on Tuesday afternoon when I called.

They were out to the house at Noon today and said they had found the pole
that was dirty. They had a DF RX and a log-periodic although they kept
refering to me as a CBer...which I promptly and several times said,
"Amateur Radio Operator."

The guys found one pole across the street and down the block that feed the
line going behind my house. So, they said they would put in a work order
and get a crea out in a couple of days. Well, about that time a KG&E work
trucj trundled past and the guy stop. The KG&E guys all know each other
and they were passing the time of day. Pretty soon, the guy backs
up...gets in the bucket...and goes up the pole to check it out. Sure
enough...loose clamp on the 7200 volt hot line feeding my row of houses.
Noise stopped.

I guess I am a blessed Amateur Radio Operator.....
