I had my LM-470D up 20 years before it began having a problem. It started 
jerking as it went up (motorized). I didn't see the problem but someone else 
did --  the pulley bracket on the lower segment somehow had become slightly 
bent and was rubbing (sometimes) on the segment inside. If something has 
changed, there is usually a reason. Sometimes someone else has to look for
