[TowerTalk] Vee beams?

The three I put up a few years ago did NOT work at all;
no gain at all!  But,  I presumed that was because the
wires were strung across a ravine,  so the ground
was wrong.  Still have one pair of wires up strung
in V pattern and still across the ravine.  Only use
on 80 and 160.  V axis is N-S,  but usefulness
only seems to be to the US mainland at an
azimuth of about  55 degrees from the V axis!!
These wires are each 600 feet long.

Who knows what waves will do when the ground 
beneath the V wires is everything but level and flat,  hi.
