Depends on many things - What does your rotor manufacturer say, eg what are
the specs?  For example, the tailtwister manual specifies what guage wire is
acceptable for what distances etc.

I have about a 600 ft run - I used 2 runs of Romex 14/3 - Two pairs were
used to obtain the equivalent of #11 wire for the motor controls (Hygain
recommended #10 for 500-800 feet), and the start cap was placed at the base
of the tower.

Bottom line is that you can do it, but you have to know the rotor's specs to
decide what you want to use for the control cables.
