[TowerTalk] SPAM

Folks,

Not following this thread real closely, but do want to make a few comments:

1) I hope it has been pointed out, that unless you are a subscriber to
TowerTalk or TowerTalk-digest, your posts will NOT get posted.

2) This, obviously, doesn't prevent someone from subscribing and then
posting SPAM. These accounts will be identified and denied future access.

3) The filters (taboo lists, etc) seem to do a pretty good job of stopping
most of what we would consider spam. If you find a case that seems to slip
through (for TowerTalk), please send me a copy of the SPAM direct to
egwolfjr@email.com.

Glenn

I don't know everything that the software spoken of does, but you can do a
fair amount without it, and your effort will be free. I have good results
with the following:

A. Put the header on the body of the spam in an outgoing msg.

B. Put SPAM in the subject line of the outgoing msg.

C. Send a copy to your ISP, and Postmaster at the originating domain (just
write Postmaster@xxxx.yyyy. X and Y of course being the domain names).

An alternative is to send to a specific spam fighter email address at your
ISP, if they have one. Many do.
