[TowerTalk] 5 db required to see?

Steve, those of us in the middle of the country might modify the equation to
include a 3rd variable, that variable being location.  I'd hate to guess how
many times stations on the east coast with an 80 meter dipole at 60m feet  have
beat a midwestern 4 square through the pileup for a semi rare european (e.g.
3A1).   What would happen in WRTC if the stations and operators were identical
but they were scattered all over the USA instead of in a limited geographic
area?
