[TowerTalk] Cellular sites

I spoke to the engineering section. They ABSOLUTELY VETOED putting any of MY
antennas on their tower. Not a big deal since their tower would be located
over 1,100 ft from my shack. Typical rents run from $750 to $1,500 per month
PLUS twice the annual lease rate for ag land. I am located in a rural area
with no tower restrictions. Engineer told me they like to deal with ham
operators. I AM precluded from running more than 100 watts on 70CM band.

All this assumes the deal goes through.

Engineer also told me that ground conductivity is measured at 50MHz.

He also told me that they would install a hard-surface road to the site,
which would be located near the back corner of my property, about as far as
possible from my house and shack. The lease would run for 35 years. They
also include a clause about interference station to my equipment. Having my
attorney look everything over. Lease is payable annually. Looks like a quick
way to pay the mortage.

Many thanks to all who replied to my questions.

Ron, KA9ALC
