Clint:
I concur with Steve. Years ago when I was "forced" to use a BX-type
self-supporting tower due to my small lot size es no room for guys, I did
what the Rohn engineers said +. --- I went a foot deeper and a foot wider in
both axis. Overkill? You bet! But, living down in Texas-tornado country, I
could sleep at night --
Over the years of putting in a lotta' towers I have found the following
formula to be true:
Engineering Spec. Depth = # of 807's * X (where X = the # of hours to dig)
Formula Variable: X will tend to decrease if an expensive import is
substituted for a cheap domestic resulting in a corresponding increase in
the # of 807's.
Bottom line -- keep on a-diggin'
