I concur with Steve. Years ago when I was "forced" to use a BX-type 
self-supporting tower due to my small lot size es no room for guys, I did 
what the Rohn engineers said +. ---  I went a foot deeper and a foot wider in 
both axis. Overkill? You bet! But, living down in Texas-tornado country, I 
could sleep at night --

Over the years of putting in a lotta' towers I have found the following 
formula to be true:

 Engineering Spec. Depth = # of 807's * X   (where X = the # of hours to dig) 

Formula Variable:  X will tend to decrease if an expensive import is 
substituted for a cheap domestic resulting in a corresponding increase in  
the # of 807's.

Bottom line -- keep on a-diggin'
