[TowerTalk] U-Bolt Saddles

FWIW....When I was building a satellite antenna array I made
saddles
from aluminum "U" channel...about 1 inch square, .0625 thick
material.
(I was using 1-1/4 - 1-1/2 tubing for the array) I believe you
can obtain
this type of channel in many sizes.

Cut two pieces the required length, put the two pieces, the open
'U's
facing each other, in a drill press vise. Using a hole saw of
proper
dia.cut a hole centered on joint of the two "U" pieces. Bob's
your uncle,
you have two lovely saddles. (albeit with no serrated edges to
grasp
the tubing) A word of caution......the hole saw cuts a nice hole
in the
base of the cast iron vise too!
