How tall is the tower?

When I side mounted a 3L 20 on a 130 ft tower,
it never seemed to play as well as before. I
suspect a current reversal above the low beam
since it was top loaded by a 3L15 and 80M dipole.

My 80M elevated GP consists of a 40 ft tower
with 10 radials 25 ft BELOW the TH7. It is a
KILLER antenna when vertical polarization is
better than horizontal. This would translate
to a 50 ft top loaded vertical for 160. Go
with a Top Loaded Wire vertical in the trees.
If you can get higher than 50 ft, fine. If not,
50 ft should still work. My first 80 countries
were worked in a 45 ft high inv L and no
matching system, just direct feed and
whatever power I could push into it from
an old Clipperton L (about 800W).

There may be some parasitic effects from
the tower when using a separate vertical.
I discovered this the hard way where a
95 ft tower topped with a CC 2L40 acted
as a 160M director spaced 80 ft from my
first 160 elevated GP. Moved the 160
GP to another tower further away and
problem went away.
