One doesn't need to have the sign of the complex part read out.

The sign of the complex part of impedance can be inferred from running
a "sweep" of nearby frequencies to determine if the freq of interest
is above or below resonance.  If the resonant freq is below the freq
of interest the "load" is inductive.  Resonance is at the point of
minimum Z in the sweep.

Have the earlier (and cheaper) Autek RF-1 and use the above method. 
Yes it takes more time.  Time or $, ur choice.
