In regard to modifying the Moonraker--even if properly scaled to 10M it's
major value is only in horizontal polarization. Vertically polarized there
is the unavoidable tower/mast interference which creates lift off the free
space pattern and F/B is ruined even if the DE is somehow matched to 50 ohms.
It's just a 50 ohm matching device for most of the RF to the tower/mast.
Beef up the boom and mount it all on one side of the tower. You can get some
independent horizontal and vertical polarization that way. Put another beam
on the other end of the boom pointing the other way. K7GCO
