[TowerTalk] grounding

My home has a number of professionally installed lightning rods on the roof 
connected by a 5/8" diameter braided aluminum cable which "snakes" thru the 
attic and has several drops to a rather heavy copper cable ringing the house 
about 18" to 24" deep.  Is there any reason not to ground the equipment in my 
shack on the 2nd floor to the attic cable?  Thanks for any advice or
