The main question is how much a little more gain on 30M
worth to you. I would expect similar performance on 17
and only slightly more gain on 12 (1 dB). The main
disadvantage to trapped beams is bandwidth. This is
not a problem on the narrow WARC bands. My guess
is that the A3WS plays like a full size 2L Yagi.
I have worked over 300 countries on each of the WARC
bands using only dipole antennas. A rotary dipole at
80 to 100 ft is a real KILLER on 30M. Even 60 ft plays
well.
