[TowerTalk] RE: Comments on Force 12

I've been following the comments on the Force 12 antenna's. Several years 
ago, I saw in there catalog they made a Magnum 520/240 and a Magnum 620/340 
system. One was just too small and the other was just too big as I live on a 
city lot, I called Tom and asked if he could make a Magnum 520/340. I had a 2 
element 40 meter yagi for several years and really wanted that 3rd element.. 
Tom said he would look into it. Several weeks later, He called me back and 
said it appears to work.. He explained his idea of mounting the 40 meter 
driven element above the boom. This allows for better band width. He quoted 
me a price shipped and I said do it..

The 5 element 20/3 element 40 combo worked like gangbusters.. It was 
installed on a Tri-Ex LM-470D with the 40 meter driven element 8' above the 
boom. I was very, very pleased with the antenna. He later added it to his 
catalog. With 10 & 15 coming around, I took the 520/340 down and replaced it 
with a C-31XR last year. Another winner. I wish I had the room to keep 3 
elements in the air for 40 meters. I even had him sell me the boom & hardware 
in case I wanted to convert the 3 element 40 into a 2 element but I never did 
it.

I've played in the hobby now for 37+ years.. Long Live Force 12 !!!
