I assume you mean that a Rohn Dealer is OK . . . but then you know what they say
about people who "assume" things . . .
I am a Rohn Dealer and I carry official Rohn tower replacement bolt kits for 25,
45, and 55. I also carry official Rohn ubolts for 25 rotator plates and larger
ubolts for for 45 rotator plates. No minimum order and the prices are on my web
page at <http://www.reprise.com> click on Antronics and then find the Rohn price
list.
I have never liked the plating on the 25G bolts or ubolts. They seem to rust
very quickly. The 45G and larger bolts are hot dip galvanized and offer better
protection against rusting but are often hard to use since the zinc tends to
clog the threads. I found what I believe to be a better solution.
While visiting a large tower manufacturer (Microflect) in Salem, OR where
broadcast towers of several hundred feet in height are manufactured, I admired
their large galvanized hardware. You could easily thread any nut on any bolt by
hand and they use some really large bolts. They said the galvanizing process
was "mechanical" and not electroplated or hot dipped. They also said they had a
subsidiary who offered this type of hardware plating on any sizes and grades of
bolts you might want. Impressed, I placed an order for bolts and ubolts to
cover 25, 45, and 55 tower legs and ubolts for rotator shelves. Grade five on
the tower leg bolts, just like Rohn, of course. I now offer what are the same
grade bolts with the same dimensions as the Rohn originals and for the same
price. You should visit my web page if you want a better explanation of what
"mechanical galvanizing" is.
So, the bottom line is this: you can have either genuine Rohn hardware from me
or what I regard as superior "mechanically galvanized" hardware for the same
price . . . your choice . . . since I stock both.
For you to actually buy directly from Rohn, you will have to somehow overcome
their $250 minimum order, which means a LOT of bolts.
