Hi Jack
A 2:1 swr isn't that bad of a thing. You have to consider the impedance
of the coax is around 50 ohms and the base impedance should be about 32
ohms so unless you have a lot of losses around the base of your antenna,
you wouldn't see a 1:1.. In fact if you did see a 1:1, you should be
worried. The best swr I get on my 160 inverted L is about 1:8 to one and
it works fine. It is about 2:1 at 1800 and goes back to 2:1 about 1875.
I wouldn't worry too much about it. 73
