This is a lot harder than it needs to be.  Use a 1/2" copper pipe to 1/2"
water pipe reducer fitting, and the water pipe side will thread right onto
the jacket of 3/4" bare aluminum hardline.  I use a little NOALOX to
lubricate the threads, tape after done, and the resultant shield connection
is REALLY good.  Tape well to keep air and water out and you should see no
dissimilar metals problems, IMO.
