For those not mechanically inclined, the two major
manufacturers of CATV hardline connectors make a cable to
PL259 and/or SO239 connector. They are, however, on the
pricey side. Try Gilbert Engineering in Glendale, Ariz. I
*think* their web address is www.gilbertconnectors.com or
Thomas & Betts in Memphis, Tenn, who bought out the LRC
brand. I *think* their web address is www.tnb.com

Here is a tip that may be of some help on connectors for
CATV hardline.

See if you can get your friendly cable guy to give you some
entry connectors
for the size hard line you have. The entry connector is
more plentiful that
the adapters. The end of the entry connector that screws
into the housing
is
the same size/thread as a PL-259 and has a long pin in the
center. Take the
threaded sleeve off of a PL-259 and cut off the shoulder.
Now break apart
the PL-259 to get the center pin. Solder the PL-259 pin on
that center pin
of the entry connector and cut off the excess entry
connector pin. Screw
the cut off sleeve on the connector. Now screw a PL-259
splice into the end
and you have a female UHF end for your jumper to the antenna
or rig.
