Not at all, although that should work well as long as the total
concrete weight and size are big enough for the job. However, if you
scan the archives for "protective coating" you will find a K7LXC
suggestion about protecting galvanized coatings with roofing tar or
other preservatives.

Right. Mine are in a huge chunk of concrete with more width than
height in order to have a large surface area supporting a lot of dirt
on top and to provide a large resistance to being dragged through the
undisturbed soil beside the concrete.

Not when coated properly.
