Does anyone know where to get the "silicon" grease? When I tried to get
some from UST a few years ago for my HDX-555, they offered to sell me a
small tube for $12.00. I then asked them for the supplier & part # . They
replied with "Husky LV150". I called all over the country and no one
seems to have heard of it. I since found some that seems fairly WX
resistant and doesn't run down the tower. I bought two tubes for $3.80
each in 1999 from Biotech Products, Oklahoma City, 73148-0755, (800)
477-9384.
Inv # RC-726 Red Grease
Inv # RC-728 Moly Grease
I've been using the Red, but haven't tried the Moly yet. I explained the
application to Biotech & this was their recommendation. These are heavy
duty greases with a lot of fiber, although you can't tell by the texture.
I think the Moly will be better as it is supposed to leave a black
lubricating film as it ages. The grease that came with the tower was
nasty stuff, but it seemed to work well.
