[TowerTalk] Viking KW matchbox.

Hi, all concerned:

I'd buy another reasonably-priced KW MatchBox today. Offers?

Years ago, I made a Trash7 drive the bejeebers out of a Honky 2K
(3dashfourhunnertzees), by putting a home-brew pi-type tuner between them,
with bandswitch, about 1.5 microH of inductance, and 2 of those beefy 3- or
4-section ceramic-insulated "BC" variables (~1500pF max per cap) which I'd
pay good money to have more of right now. More offers, pls.

That same tuner does yeoman duty cascaded with the KW Matchboxes I use now,
obviating extensive buggery to their innards. Modeling the setup in EWB
( interactiv.com ) shows the benefit of having more Z-match capability at
the 'Box's input.

A similar effect can be had with the ubiquitous internal tuners. My rigs
have 'em, but I mostly don't use 'em.

(The Trash7 [Drake TR7] was non-selling residue from a garage sale, left
curbside, between ashcans, for scavengers. The Honky [Henry] 2K cabinetry
had been repainted :o((( peaches and cream by some one.)

Hope this helps someone.
