[TowerTalk] HyGain Beta rod

My tower project is coming along and should be completed before the snow
flies which actually could be tomorrow here in the U.P..  In getting the
5 element 20 ready, I noticed that one of the Beta rods was broken an
inch from the terminal that attaches to the boom. I had my welder try to
fix it but the aluminum keeps exploding and he can't get a good weld.
If it had broken somewhere down the length of the rod, it would be easy
to repair.  Any ideas out there short of ordering a new one from MFJ?  I
am coming to the end of my budget which has gone way past the 10%
overage figure!
