While on this subject, does anyone else wrap the joints of their antennas
with Scotch 33/88? I cannot remember who taught me this, but I have always
wrapped the joint, clamps, rivets, screws, whatever in electrical tape. It
keeps the snags to a minimum and should prevent the rivets from coming out.
I don't know if it would stop the elements from rocking and working the
rivets loose but it did cure the oscillation of my 10m elements on my
Tango34. I'd like to think that it helps to keep anti-oxidant from being
displaced by wind driven rain, although it would not allow the joint to weep
moisture. Any condensation would have to run to the end of an element to
get out.
