[Towertalk] Advice on Re-doing My Antennas

I'm not an expert but I wouldn't recommend guying a self supporting tower
unless you speak with the manufacturer.
I used to have a Rohn HBX-40 installed. I spoke with Rohn, and the gentlman
there said to NOT guy it. Guying it would actually weaken the tower by
pulling out and down on it!!! I was surprised but did not guy it since it
did make since. The tower is not designed to have forces pulling out and
the extra downward pressure was like adding weight.
Moral: On some self supporting towers, guying is worse than not guying.
