The Copper paste you're talking about is called "Kopr-Shield" by Thomas 
& Betts.  It's available at Grainger.
Look for it at www.grainger.com    I use it for all my copper to copper 
connections.  It's conductive and weather
resistant.  It's real messy and goopy, like it should be.  Phil  KB9CRY
