[Towertalk] Buying nuts and bolts [was "Mosley"]

There are always bolt-houses in any sized metropolitan city, names like
Metro Bolt and Screw or House of Threads, etc...

....and another good source for stainless stuff is of course a marine
shop...but watch the prices there - you thought the antenna guys were
excited to see you!

We have had good luck working with the bolt houses...one trick I used was to
have a club purchase of 2" stainless u-bolts - we all got together and
ordered a couple hundred of the 5/16" type - similar to what is used on a
tailtwister rotor...the bolt house subcontracted a fabrication house and
they cranked em out...the per each price including nuts was cheaper than a
low end galvanized u-bolt at the home center stores...and that included me
mailing them to the club members.

And don't forget guys like DX Engineering who bought out the late WA4DRU's
line of u-bolts - the ones with the cast saddles!

Back to plugging the FQP which is only 3 days away... http://www.qsl.net/fqp
:-)
