Fw: [Towertalk] silver solder ok for Ground wire to rod ?

I am the first to admit that I am not an expert,  but I understand
that the ground system's first jobs are to provide a ground reference
for rf and to eliminate static charge buildup that could attract a strike.
Its last duty would be to carry off current from a strike.  Recieve signals
and qrp transmit would have big problems with a poor ground.
If I am off base here,  someone help me out.
