Try this:
Take an aspirin tablet. Lay the wire flat on aspirin tablet and then use
hot soldering iron with a dab of solder on it then pull wire slowly out
of between the aspirin and soldering iron. The enamel should be stripped
and wire tinned.
It might take fair amount of heat.
It smell badly while you do this so use well ventillated area.
The aspirine is acetylsalicylic acid so make sure the wire is cleaned
after.

PS. It might not work on some kind of enamel.

Subject: [Towertalk] stripping enameled wire
Is here anything out there that strips enameled wire for soldering easily
instead if scrapping it with a knife? Got to make up several transformers
with #28 wire. Want to se if there is an easier way to do this. There
used
to be some liquid you dipped it in, but that was many years ago.
Tnx
Tony
