[TowerTalk] station patch cables

After years of service, I'm thinking of replacing all the patch 
cables between my rigs/amps/wattmeters/dummy loads, etc. I've 
currently got a selection of RG8X and RG8U cables.

What's the best cable to use for all these short 2-3 foot jumpers and 
where's the best place to lay hands on the cable and connectors?
