Hi Paul: I have operated K5GW's(Tx Twr owner) 2m moon bounce station
when I lived in Dallas. He had 48 each 10 el yagis in his array. I
believe it was second to W5UN's system in size. He used 1500w amp. The
yagis are of his own design and I believe he sells kits for the antennas
as well as the small rod element material and the insulators and spring
clips to pass the elements thru the boom. I worked lots of eu and
african stations. I believe from talking to him, that 4 yagis in a
square array is about the minimum antenna needed and, of course you need
to computer track your antenna to stay on the moon. There are a few big
systems around the world you can work with a minimum setup.
Incidentally, He also has a FULL SIZE 3 el yagi at 197 ft. Sure would
like to have that up here.
