[Towertalk] Rohn 45 foldover tower

I bought my 64 foot Rohn 45 Foldover tower new and stacked it myself with
the aid of a couple of sons for a ground crew. It is a very nice tower. I
would not trade it for all the crank up towers available.

The main limitation is antenna weight, but it will accommodate a nice log, 2
or 4 element quad, or other multiband antennas, rotator, and a couple of vhf
antennas.

I have a quad on mine and it takes about 15 minutes to remove two guy wires
and have the quad setting on the ground. Another 15 minutes to put it back
at 64 feet and re-tension the guys. The tower folds cleanly at 32 feet and
should be lowered and raised with minimal cross winds. I live on a hilltop
location and that condition seldom occurs.

My only regret is that you cannot buy a new foldover section complete any
longer from Rohn. Maybe a third party will eventually produce a competing
product.

Any experiences with a Rohn 45 foldover? This tower folds over at 33'. 73,
