Railroad has the answer  (ex - southern pacific)  - hired a "pigeon catcher"
he comes with grain, a BIG BLUE NET, and couple of CANNONS that launch the
net!  waits for them to start feeding, then -- KABLOOIE!, net catches them--
as for what happens next,
SEEMS THAT SAFETY DINNER HELD , with SQUAB !  Use deep fryer-- bosses claim
it turkey, but what are us poor suckers to know!  at least till retired on
disability!  BON APPITITE !!!
