[Towertalk] Tower and rotator for Force12 C3 antenna

I have a Force12 C3 antenna and am currently trying to decide on the =
right tower and rotator. I would like to use the smaller roof mount =
tower because it would be easier to maintain the antenna and rotator. I =
am concerned that I may be too close to the upper limits of the smaller =
Glen Martin roof mount tower (RT424) given the wind speed in my area. I =
would appreciate some input. =20

The wind speed for the Front Range County in Colorado is 85 mph

                         | C3 | RT 424 | =
RT 832 | Yaesu 405 Rotator

Wind load | 5.5 SF | 6.0@87mph | 8.0@87mph | =

K factor | 633.6ft/lb =
                 | 723 ft/lb

Max. Ant Load | | 100 lb | 120 lb =

Breaking torque =
                 | 260 ft-lb

Rotating torque =
                  | 52 ft-lb

The rotator appears that it should handle the C3 antenna and it looks =
like the RT832 tower would be a safe choice with its higher wind load =
rating. But, as stated above, I would like to use the RT424. My =
concern is that I may be flirting with disaster if I go with the smaller =
tower with wind load specs that are close to the antenna's and the wind =
speed for my county.

Any thoughts? =20
