	An amp will give you more gain than a beam.
	400/100W = 6 dB   800/100W = 9 dB  
	1000/100W = 10 dB   1600 / 100W = 12 dB

	on each of the WARC bands using dipoles and
	up to 800W.

	A 'shortie 40' might have 3 dB gain over a dipole.
	I worked my first 300 countries on 40M using
	rotary dipoles at 80 ft (and an SB220).

	A rotary dipole is a very effective 40M antenna.
