There is a product called T-9.  It was developed by the Boeing group for 
lubrication and protection of aircraft parts.
It is very popular in the marine & aviation industry.

Unlike WD-40, T-9 leaves a waxy finish protecting the metal for months.
T-9 can be found and most boating stores.  The can does not list a web site

My EZ-Way 40' crank-up  tower has been up at my QTH for 14 years.  There is 
a TA-33 on top.  The ham I purchased it from lived on the intercostal 
waterway so there wa sa lot of salt always in the air. He purchased it new 
sometime just before EZ-Way went out of business (I think in the late 
70's)  Last year I replaced the cable and winches.  Not bad for a 30 year 
old tower.
I lived on a man made island here in Tampa and had up another 40' EZ-Way 
(purchased used, no idea of history) with a TH6-DXX.  That tower, mounted 
on a Wonder Post was also secured next to the house via a Rohn house 
bracket was in the air for 10+ years.  The Wonder Post was in salt water 
and sand for that time and, other than some surface cancer was in excellent 
condition.
Neither tower has given me a moments worth of trouble and it gives me the 
ease of mind that my antenna won't find it's way into a neighbors back yard 
during a wind storm.

Short of building the 'perfect' antenna farm, IMHO, (cost taken out of the 
equation) a crank up is the way to go, especially for a non-climber. As far 
as I'm concerned it's much safer working on the ground than at any height.
