With many questions such as this one all you need to do to get
more info is to do a search on Google.  In the case of the
spitfire question, if you go to Google and run a search on
antenna+spitfire you will get several solid hits.

The mail lists are certainly good sources of info, but you will
be amazed at what you can find with a few judicious Google
searces.
