Mark:
Thermoweld, Cadweld, Furseweld Exothermic weld are all vendor names used by
different companies that supply the components for external fusion welding
materials to industry. The products are all basically the same. The chemical
components when ignited burn very hot and very quickly to weld the pieces
together. I believe the process is akin to a thermite grenade. Melts the
local material together to from a weld.

In designing welded continuious rail systems for both cranes and railroads
it is used in lieu of stick welding, for the obvious time to weld and
warping potential involved.

So I went over to midwestunlimited.com to look at the fall arrestors, and
found their Thermoweld listings. Looks like a similar product to Cadweld
(competitor?). Does anybody know how they compare and differ?
