I can personally attest to the fact that Steve is definitely kidding here.

Steve's wife is a gracious, wonderful woman, who, on welcoming me in to her
home as a visiting guest op a few years ago, fed me and gave me warm drink,
while her husband smilingly sent me off to a cold, dank, almost snowbound
room with solid state radios (no heat) to operate for the next three or so
hours.
