You may be right for a cylinder....but he said 2.5 x 2.5 x 5.... that's not a cylinder.  Still, the calcs (1.157 vs 1.25) are not that much different. :-)  Jerry K3BZ

  My calculator says that a 2"6" diameter pier, 5' deep would be 1 1/4 yards.

  (we used to figure, 6 wheelbarrows to a yard for how much pushing would be

    or 2.9 cu yds.
