[TowerTalk] Running coax into the basement

Dan,
I was spoiled. I build an addition and had the contractor put 3" PVC into the house foundation and into the concrete tower base. I then dug a shallow ditch to the tower base. I use all gentle, sweeping 90degree bends. There are two, one in the concrete base and one in the foundation under my shack. The PVC tube pops up just behind my equipment rack in the false wall between my shack and a tool room. So the coax only goes two or three feet from PVC to equipment. Makes it a clean set up.
There are a number of things I would have done differently. I would have used larger tubing. I have five ultraflex cables, two control cables (steppir and rotor), a weather cable and a spare pull cable. It is very tight. I needed pulling lube to get it sliding through. Used a steel handcuff and steel fish tape to pull the cable assembly through.
Happy to send you photos. Hope that helps. Michael K3MH

How are people getting their coax into the shack in
the basement ?? i was thinking of using 4" pvc pipe
with a cap on the outside with holes drilled for coax
and sealing around each coax run with rtv when i put
them in ....
thanks
