Mark,
  If you already have the male and female N connectors I see no reason to
not go ahead and use them. If you decide to go with UHF connectors I see
that The Wireman has in-line SO239 connectors for low-loss 8 series cable
for $5.56 each (#1133). I assume (dangerous word) that would mean they will
accept the larger center conductor typical of 9913, etc. but an email to him
would undoubtedly provide all the needed details.
