 They sure can't hurt!!
for a FEW BUCKS MORE IN THE INVESTMENT.
Anything that gives you lateral support can't be bad!

I just saw this weekend a 40 foot boom 4 element tri
band quad split in two as it was lowered. The Gin pole
folded to 180%
locking the rope thru the gin pole on a 200 LBS
antenna that split in two! The antenna boom didn't
bend! It split! Like a crystaline fracture. The
antenna careened down and put a Vee bow on the top
guy!! It was a very scary situation with the person on
the tower. he could have been crushed, or the tower
could have collapsed!

I think that any addition safety preventatives that
you can add to your tower system are well worth it at
any cost. I was shaking from this experience after
doing tower installs and taking towers down for over
35 years!
