I should add that the comments from SteppIR may only relate to the low
frequency extension. Though not discussed, there may be other design
details including additional elements to facilitate respectable performance
on the higher bands. It may be that there are more than 3 elements total.

Subject: [TowerTalk] New SteppIR yagi in the works?

I wonder how a new design from SteppIR would fit into the overall HF yagi
market if it ended up as follows:

3 elements on a boom about 32 feet long
Maximum element length of 67 feet allowing operation on 40 and 30 meters
Upper frequency including 10 meters
Priced around $3000

I wonder about such an antenna since I am trying to decide what to buy and
the specs above are what are being targeted by SteppIR for their new yagi.
It won't be ready as soon as they wanted, this summer, but sometime after,
TBD. This info is per the factory this afternoon.

I had been leaning towards the 4 el with some other solution for 30 and 40
meters which would push the cost and complexity higher. Only wish I could
know the performance to gauge if the wait would be worth it.
