[TowerTalk] stepping motors

Old 5.25" full height drives still show up at hamfests and have
a nice stepper for head positioning. If you can find trashed 8"
drives, they have even bigger motors.

You might also look at old dot matrix printers. Some use servos, some 
steppers.
