I always unfastened the far ends of my inverted V's to remove the side pull
from the tower, especially when cranking it up.

Subject: [TowerTalk] Sloper Installation

I am planning to put in a sloper for 80 meters. My tower is a crank-up
TX-455. We have sudden strong winds out here in the desert and when I lower
the tower, I would like the slack in the sloper to be absorbed by a
rust-resistant, flexible, spring. Anyone with experience having done this
before? I'd appreciate all the help I can get.
