[TowerTalk] Vertical Loop Feedline

Tom
My loop testing has shown problems using an odd multiple of a quarter wave
feed line.
I ended up using just over a 1/2 wave on 80m to a remote balun with about 20
ft of
coax into the shack. I tuned the loop for about 3.60 mhz and I have to use
the tuner
on 75m but on 40m, 20m, 17m & 12m I can bypass the tuner completely. On 15m
&
10m I only need the tuner on the lower band edges (if I run the amp). The
auto-tuner
in the rig handles this with ease. I had to do some trimming on the loop
and the 450 LL
to get thiis where I wanted it but the results was worth the effort.

brew balun and then 50 ohm coax to the rig??? My rigs have auto tuners. I
presently have a 40 meter vertical with a quarter wave of 75 ohm coax. This
seems to work well with the tuner as a multiband antenna. Would it work
better with ladder line, a balun and coax. If this is better is there a
certain length of ladder line???
