[TowerTalk] tic ring in tandem

Hi Bob!
I have given some thought to this in the past. One suggestion would be to set both rings (mounted on the tower) to the clockwise stop (180 degrees south by east). Use the pot wires from only one ring, but parallel the motor wires for both rings. Now both rings will rotate together and as long as nothing slips, they will stay in sync. You might want to rig up a 3 pole double throw relay where you could check the direction of the unused pot periodically. This is a
simple method that might work well for you.

I have one up and a second would be far less money than converting the tower to become a rotating tower. If you have done so does it work well, and do the rotators pretty much stay in synch throughout 360 degrees? I want to stack a pair of yagi's and have no need to rotate them independently. Thanks in advance for the observations. 73 bob de w9ge
