[TowerTalk] tic ring in tandem

This does not sound like a good solution to me.  Why not call TIC for a
recommendation?  They are always very helpful to me.

I have given some thought to this in the past. One suggestion would be to
set both rings (mounted on the tower) to the clockwise stop (180 degrees
south by east). Use the pot wires from only one ring, but parallel the motor
wires for both rings. Now both rings will rotate together and as long as
nothing slips, they will stay in sync. You might want to rig up a 3 pole
double throw relay where you could check the direction of the unused pot
periodically. This is a simple method that might work well for you.
