Bill, for 900 thousand bucks, if I didn't HAVE to live around here for my
job, i'd take that money and buy way more than 1/2 acre, out in western IL,
Wisc., or Iowa.
Yes, it's true there are some ham friendly areas around Chicago--but where
to avoid? I understand NAPERVILLE, requires anyone wanting to put up an
outdoor antenna, to go around and get neighbors to sign forms granting
permission! If any neighbor declines to sign, that ends the project.
Now, THAT to me, is a procedure just asking for a PRB1 court fight. You
could not pay me to move to Naperville.

Some of Chicago burbs are still good places for Hams....
The mayor of Northfield ,Illinois ( very fine North burb) continuously
reminds me that he is waiting for an application for a 100 foot tower so he
can approve it.
There are still some 1/2 acre teardown lots for 400,000 to 900,000 in town.
Still further north, Deerfield ( where I am ) approves permits for tower
w/ant for 60 feet... ( mine is a crankUP)...( it cranks down to 22
feet............................)
So come on down or over...if you can stand being in the Midwest RF hole.
